Synthesis of My Media Experiences
RADIO
I have learned that radio can be divided into AM and Fm which is amplitude modulation and frequency modulation respectively. We have watched a documentary about radio and we’ve seen how a radio studio looks like. They’ve interview a disc jockey who is surprisingly a graduate of Engineering. There is also a woman who can speak different voices like a child, an old lady, and etc. At first, radio is a mystery for me how it was done, but now I already knew how they work on their programs.

A Student of JOURN100 was Hold-uped by: Regine N. Alacapa
After passing the requirements in their subject, Comm110, and organizing their project in Journ100 from school, a student Ms. Rachel Caladiao was hold-uped at Central Avenue, New Era, Quezon City. “Nung nagkahiwalay na kami pauwi, nahold-up daw siya sabi ng mga nakikita”, said Mark Joseph Valerio. “Pinipilit kunin yung cellphone ko. Nanlaban ako, nakatakbo…pero hindi ko alam na may dala pala siyang asido…may tama ako”, said the victim. According to the witnesses, may tama daw ng asido si Rachel sa batok at konting tama sa mukha. She was confined at the hospital after that tragic incident. When I heared the news, sobrang affected ako dahil classmate ko siya and if I were in that situation, alam kong mag-papanic din ako. Naalala ko pa dati nung nagbibiruan kami ni Rachel tungkol sa tear gas na bigay sa kanya ni boyfriend niya. Pinagtitripan namin kung pa’no ‘toh gamitin…pero we didn’t expect this to happen. Tinanong ko siya kung bakit hindi niya nagamit yung tear gas for self-defense, probably nag-panic siya. Let’s all pray for her complete recovery and hope that this incident will never happen again especially to students na mahilig mag-text sa daan. I hope that this incident will serve as a lesson for us.
