Yes, classes were interrupted! Now that the program of battle of the bands (“Bond-a Rito Sa N.E.U.”) was held at the quadrangle, with its very loud speakers, classes were disturbed and quizzes were postponed by the professors. MC2B had a very short quiz in Philo2 and immediately, were dismissed. Professors couldn’t teach the lectures properly because of the noise that was heard from 1st up to the 4th floor of the main building because of the program. A lot of professors were claiming that their classes were affected by the extreme noise of the bands. It should be held somewhere else like at the U-Hall where classes can’t be disturbed. “Is this what we call music or a noise?”, a professor said annoyingly. In our Rizal class, we moved to the high school building to have the classes because of the said program. It was really loud. Just as if there is a concert at the university.
There were almost twenty bands that joined the contest. Each of them had different attitudes that stand out from the other. Some of them play rock music, pop and etc. Our classmate Edward also joined the contest. He plays the bass guitar and they were the second to perform. The noisy program started at 1:00pm and ended in the afternoon. Among the songs that were played were “Bleeding Love” and “Ang Pusa Mo”. There were also songs of Chicosci, Parokya Ni Edgar, Eraserheads and Kamikazee. The quadrangle was full of audiences enjoying the uniqueness and energy of the bands. The perception of the program was “enjoyable” to the audience (students), while for the professors, it was “very annoying”.

Significance of the Study
As concerned Mass Communication students, we believe that the youth is the hope of our nation. Modern technologies continually change the attitudes of the children like in the generation, Tagalog cartoons are evolving and most children adapt the characters of the cartoon shows like Spongebob Squarepants, Jimmy Neutron, Rocko’s Modern Life, Dora the Explorer, Catdog, and etc. We want to help their parents in monitoring their behavior and learning abilities, and also, to be aware of the nature of the cartoon programs that their children are watching. Most children watch tagalong cartoon programs because it is easy for them to understand this language. We also want to help their parents to discover the advantages and disadvantages of watching tagalong cartoon programs; how it affect children’s behavior, and how it affects the way of learning of children at school.

The gateway to Basilan. There, the parola of the lighthouse guides ships and vintas to the channel. There can be found the final and resting place of the nomad seafaring Badjaos and Samal-Luaans-Banguingui as well as the Muslim cemetery. It boasts of the only lake in the province with wild ducks. Also found on this island is the Panigayan fishing village, where spearfishing is a recommended activity.More Here...
